New Features in The 2016 MacBook Pro

Finally, the long awaited update to MacBook Pro has been announced by Apple. It is about time as the Mac users were get frustrated with the tech giant which was solely focusing on the iPhone series. However, now in an event launched on 27th October in San Francisco Apple made its users happy by making this announcement. The new MacBook pro is also the improved one and appears to have filled the gap between the competition and the pro line.

The new MacBook pro has made the entry in three sizes, a thick 13 inch, a thin 13 inch and a 15 inch. The upgrade was long overdue and as now it has come or at least announced, it is claimed to be the most powerful MacBook pro in its line. Here are the new features in the 2016 MacBook Pro:

Standard USB Port Is Absent
After the iPhone 7's headphone jack, the tech giant has decided to surprise the users through making the standard USB port absent and inserting the four USB-C ports instead. All these ports can be used for charging the laptop or attaching USB-C, USB connectors, and Thunderbolt HDMI. This port is more rounded and smaller as compared to the traditional socket.

Touch Bar
The 2016 MacBook Pro has brought an end to the function keys placed at the top of the keyboard. A set of 'virtual keys' which are customizable has replaced the typical function keys. These virtual keys are touch sensitive and are made of an OLED touch strip. This new feature is termed as Touch bar and possesses an embedded Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

The Touch ID sensor has compatibility with Apple Pay for Mac and enables you to log into the MacBook without typing the password. It's changeable Through its changeable Touch Bar you are able to control system settings such as volume and brightness, however, the keys are also customized according to what laptop is being used for. It also contains a predictive text, just like iPhone, to render faster typing. There is also a dedicated key present for Siri.

However, there is a downside here with all the bright sides. The touch bar does not perform well under direct light like any other matte screen cannot do.

On the first glance, it would occur to you that nothing has changed but having another detailed look would make you realize that everything has changed in the new MacBook Pro. The general demeanor looks unaffected with the upgrade but the 13 inch-thick and thin versions and the 15-inch version of the 2016 MacBook Pro are 17% and 14% slimmer than their previous versions.

The 13 inch MacBook Pro is 14.9mm thick weighing 1.36 kg making it half a pound lighter than the previous one, while the 15-inch MacBook Pro is 15.5, thick which makes it 14% thinner than its previous version. It is also 20% smaller than the previous one in weight which is 1.8kg.
That’s it. With some news great features, MacBook Pro is looking like a promising bet.
